How to Recover From a Losing Streak Without Revenge Trading

A practical four-step reset for after a run of losses, so one bad week doesn't turn into a blown account.

Losing streaks are normal

Even a strategy that wins 55% of the time will regularly produce five or more losses in a row over a few hundred trades. The danger isn't the streak; it's what you do next.

Step 1 — Stop and step away

After hitting your daily loss limit, close the platform. Decisions made in the hour after a big loss are the ones most likely to break your rules.

Step 2 — Review, don't judge

Sort the losing trades into two groups: followed the plan, or broke a rule. Losses that followed the plan are the cost of doing business. Rule breaks are the real problem to fix.

Step 3 — Cut size, not standards

Return at half your usual risk for the next 10 trades. Keep your setups exactly the same. Build confidence on small size before going back to normal.

Step 4 — Add one rule

Pick the single most expensive mistake from the review and write a rule against it, such as 'no trades in the first 15 minutes after the open'. Add it on the Fomo Avoider Alerts page so the AI checks it for you.
